Default Rear controls on a 2018 48 xl1200x

Not sure if any of yall are from GA, but this weekend me and some buddies rode Blood Mountain. I was scraping peg the whole way up, barely able to lean at all and felt super limited by my forward controls. I ended up keeping the bike in 2nd gear the whole way down the other side of the mountain and used my passenger footpegs to lean harder and take curves faster and at better angles.

so now i want/need rear controls.

I bought the bike new from HD like a month ago and it has forward controls. its a 2018 Sportster 48 115th Anniversary edition, just crossed 1000 miles today.

Does anyone know of any rearsets out there that are compatible with VH Short shots? Just from looking at pics, i think the RSD rearsets would sit too close to the pipes, plus you have to extend your brake line which sounds like a pain... And the factory HD rearset looks like you dont have to extend your brake lines?? could be wrong there, idk. but Idk if theyd fit with short shots...
Any suggestions?

you mean mid controls, not rearset......and lots have shortshots with mid controls, they should chime in shortly, should be an easy fix

or you can get rid of the feelers on you current pegs if ya like forward controls, that'll give ya another inch lean

A couple of suggestions to further investigate: V&H Short Shots Staggard are shown on a mid-control Sportster so that should indicate they fit with factory mid-controls but I would give a call to V&H to confirm?

Some Sporty riders have gone with Roland Sands Mid Controls which are more "Sport Bike" / "Cafe Racer" controls https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...-controls.html
