Hello,
I am a recent retiree from The Boeing Company. Spent my last 5 years in Korea inspecting product they ship to us in the USA (yes, it sucks they build too much of our stuff, like Japan, China etc.). I really wanted a new Harley and fell for the 2018 FLHTKANN (ultra limited anniversary special) as I really liked the blue, back paint job and the Eagle badging on tank not found elsewhere. I finally found one in Scottsdale dealership, put 3k down on for them to hold it for me for 3 months.
I never knew they were the biggest dealership in the world (tattoo parlor, chapel, coffee shop, basement with thousands of used bikes etc). My wife and I flew out there in April, rode around AZ, and then off to Vegas for a week to celebrate my retirement after 37 years (and 1 day lol) with Boeing. I got the 1k service in Vegas and rode this beauty home (the wife flew home, LOL, I don't blame her), stopping in Tulsa to visit old Navy and riding buds on the way home. Yes it was a bit cool out in April, but I was dressed for it.
I've put 7k on her already and can't wait for some cross country rides. I've lived in Hawaii (US Navy),Tulsa (757 production), Columbus (B1B production), Rapid City, S.D. (B1Bomber mods on Ellsworth AFB) and now in a little town called Mary Esther in FL since 1994 working on the AC130U Gunship (close to Hurlburt Field AFB, Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola etc.) prior to going to Korea in 2013.
I am hoping to find some riding buds as most of mine are still working or have bailed on riding out of fear for their lives (too many texters, people on XANAX or other stuff and f...ing maniac drivers they tell me). I say what else is new. I am 60 years young and hope to hook up with some serious riders looking for cross country excursions.
I also have a BMW R1200C that I put about 70k on since 2003, which was great for the twisties and local bar hoping but not so much the long hauls. Drop me a line if passing this way or looking to hook up for riding. Having lived in South Dakota for 7 years, close to Sturgis, I am really familiar with the Black Hills, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Colorado and can't get enough of that area. IMO, riding east of the Mississippi, (exception: smokie mountain areas) doesn't do it for me anymore so I like heading west whenever I can.
To date I've installed the luggage rack detach kit, complete Harley exhaust system (as I wanted the Cat converters out of the front pipe and back in the slip-ons where they belong), and the high flow intake- a full stage 1 kit.
. I also bought the cables and downloaded the software so I could tune it myself. I am a hands on guy and never even had my bikes in the shop as I even swapped my own tires via wrestle mania technique)
