I've read a few threads going back and forth on whether or not this will work for older bikes. The general consensus I found (at least as I understood) was that it would not because of a VIN lock. Following the link and then looking at the FAQ's directly from that page on the HD site it states, Q: "Will radio retrofit previous years?" A: "The radio will not retrofit earlier than 2014 models."
This would lead me to believe that it would work with '14 and later??
Yet when you go to the HD site to actually check out the radio itself, it says that it only fits 2019+. Confused because both of those are directly off the HD site, just different spots...

 

There are now two Boom systems.

2014-2018 Boom!
2019+ GTS

The 2014-2018 units are not compatible with pre-Rushmore models.
The 2019+ GTS units are not compatible with 2014-2018 Rushmore fairing units

Has anyone had any luck downloading the Boom 6.5 GT Premium update. All the other updates download the proper .iso file. The one I REALLY want is just a 1k .md5 checksum. Seems they forgot to actually link to the file.

HD REALLY needs to hire someone under the age of 75 to take control of this stuff.

 

1.22.0.2 is showing up on the sight as an update for the pre 2019 system. However it does not install. I have installed every Boom update and know how to do it, this one will not work. It is listed as an update for new P&A headsets.
Also the WHIM update 1.1.4 will run but when it is finished the firmware still shows the old version. I have also updated /reinstalled the WHIM software in the past.
The newest Dealer update installed just as it should.
Monday some time I plan to call HD and find out if they have a reason.

I have both files it needs extracted but they still will not install. I did get the newest WHIM update to install just a few minutes ago. It seems that the current update for the WHIM is used for both pre and post 2019 systems. It just installs from the version 1.1.4 Pro what yours needs.
The radio update 1.22.0.2 extras in to two files swdl_premium.iso and swdl_premium.iso.md5 both should be needed to install but it just can not see he files
