It comes from the fact that the Moco uses two different bin files. One is a bin_off file used for listening (read demo on the sales floor) in accessory mode. The other is for when the bike is running, it is a less than stellar eq curve that basically saves the system from itself and the user. It may not be that bad when only stock equipment is used. Upgrading the factory audio with amps and good speakers gets to be a little more challenging with the Boom systems. To add another tid bit of info, they also use several flashes to accommodate the various models and options.

Ahh, thank you. I remember seeing posts from people complaining that the Boom sounded quite different with the motor running.
Truth be told it's beyond me why anyone would spend big $$ to listen from bike speakers going 70mph. I went with a Cardo PackTalk wireless headset w/JBL speakers. It's FM receiver seems to be better than that in the Boom, and the eq. is available from a phone app., but everyone to their own tastes, eh?

I have the send 20s EVOS and the WHIM, compared to my setup at any speed it sounds like complete and udder crap compared to my stereo system, half helmet, full face, doesn’t matter, no comparison
