Default Help me decide (used bike purchase) looking for input

Long time member, have not posted much but have been lurking and doing a lot of reading. Sold my Big Dog Pitbull a couple years ago. Anyway I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new (used) bike. And I am having trouble deciding and looking for all the years and knowledge you can spare to help me make an informed decision.Presently IU am in Kabul Afghanistan and I am trying to narrow down my choices so my wife can arraign the purchase for me while I am over here. She will have a fellow Harley rider/ my neighbor to tag along and do the final inspection and road test before the purchase.Looking for info as far as what to look for as in known issues with particular bikes and years, and your thoughts. I have not elaborated on the bikes as to some have extras, Apes, Saddle Bags, extra Chrome etc. All of them are between $9300 and $10500. Really just looking to see if A) any stand out as a super deal and B) any stand out to shy away from.My last bike was a hard tail bar hopper so any of these will be a vast improvement.Bikes in no particular order. BOLD are one I happen to like and stand out to me ascetically

Why don't you wait until you get back from Afghanistan and you do the test ride and see which one you like the best?

But if you are dead set on having someone else choose your bike, I'd go with one of the two choices that have the lowest miles, the 2009 Softail or the 2007 Street Glide. All the others are around the same year, in the same price range and have two, three, even four times as many miles.

I agree I would go 09 up Touring... Love the new frame and wider rear tire.

Right now in my area for $10500 you can get a low mileage 2011-2012 Road King. I think the prices you see are too high. Do yourself a favor and look around some more. Shipping bikes is not that hard or expensive so broaden your geographical area and buy from a dealer with a return policy. I think you could do substantially better than your list.

I have the same question. Sure it would be nice to come home to a new Harley, but why pay for it when you can’t ride it. Keep the money in the bank until you get back and earn a little interest on it. If you are financing then definitely wait.

Bikes are pretty personal and I may or may not like what my neighbor or friend likes. A Street Glide is pretty different from a softtail deluxe. Have you ridden either of those models? I thought I wanted a Heritage until I test rode a Road King. One sales guy kept trying to sell me a Street Glide because he had one and loved the stereo and gps - nice but not what I want on my bike.

As far as the bikes you listed, probably not a bad one there. There is probably some or maybe a lot of room to negotiate price and that won’t change much in the near future.

Good luck and post a pic when you get your new bike.

Agree that you would be better off waiting until you could see and ride what you are interested in.

But why is there not a Road Glide on your list? Not pushing it but you should again test ride anything before you buy.

thank you for the replies. I should have been a bit more clear. I have ridden the deluxe and the glides. Only sat on the road kings. I like the deluxe as you feel a bit more not sure how to say it, but part of the bike a bit like my old pitbull vs sitting high a top as on the road kings. The glide is a nice in between feel for me anyways .
my gut us leaning towards the deluxe or the street glides.

I am not sure how tall you are, but if you are over 5'9" I would not consider the Deluxe. They can get a bit cramped riding for a length of time. I would either get the 2007 SG, 2009 SG, or 2009 EG, in no particular order.
