Default SixDD's 2006 FXDB "Build" Thread

Maybe, if I start a thread it will encourage me to get off my butt and get crankin' on this bike - of course I have medical issues to contend with which causes extreme fatigue and I have to work around that. It's still in the planning stage and my mind changes a lot. I'm not sure at this point exactly how it will turn out, but I enjoy the process. I will keep y'all posted.

Here are four pictures of the bike when I first got it:

To be continued...

Nothing like a Dyna build to get me interested. I'm in...

This is how the bike looks as of today. As you can see I have already done a few things. One of the next things that will be done to it is 2008 Wide Glide Triple Trees and WG front wheel will be installed. It will be getting a set of Arlen Ness black modular 10" handlebars - that much is for sure. The rear is lowered with Burly Slammer Shocks. I may lower the front.

I'm toying with the idea of a Rocket Bob's rear fender, wider front rim, different front tire, big brake on front, but that's way down the road if I do it.

I installed the lower triple tree. What do you know, this new thread is working already!

Installed the upper tree, a black Joker Machine stem nut, and a set of black risers. I may install these other diamond shaped risers - have not decided.

Installed the fork tubes (everything is "loose" fit for now). The clear coat was stripped off the fork tubes a while back. I will spend some time polishing them - next.

FYI: these are the handlebars that will be installed on the bike. I think I will love the adjustability of them!

Yay, a Six build thread! 'Bout time, brother!

I really dig those mitered apes. The adjustable elbows will be nice. As much as I like my Carlinis, the wrist angle isn't quite right. I deal with it because the alternative (custom bars) is a HUGE pain in ***.

I believe the original bars were OEM 11" mini apes.

Did a rough polish on the lower fork tubes. I may break out the mother's powerball on them tomorrow. Nite!
