Default Dealer doesn’t want to fix bike under warranty

Ok guys first post on here I’m going out of my mind a bit with my dealer lately. I’ll try attaching a couple pictures but the problem I have is some oil seeping from under the head bolts on the top of my head(edit* rocker box bolts), I’m no guru but I believe a gasket must be blown and should obviously be replaced, mind you I’m not a Harley mechanic!. I paid over 2k Canadian for the Harley extended service plan and hoped to not have to use it but low and behold a small issue so great let’s take it in. Well after two attempts of taking it to my dealer to get it fixed( sure I’m assuming it’s a big job to replace the gaskets but hence buying the esp) my dealer wipes the oil off and brings the bike to operating temp and no oil coming out at the time so they send me on my way. Now after I go for a nice hour long ride the oil is back it’s been happening for the last few thousand kilometres now and I’m getting kind of choked I want to take it in again and get them to do the work but am I crazy. I have seen little air bubbles coming out of the area after a long ride what do I do!!!

Those are rocker box bolts, not head bolts

Rocker box gaskets are a lot less work to replace than head gaskets and the problem isn't as serious mechanically, it's just messy.

Dude, if it's a defect in the manufacturing process they should fix it.... period. I'd be pissed too if I bought a new bike and ESP and it trickled a single drop. That is why many wait to do any mods to their new bikes while under warranty... They want to make sure they are building on a sound and firm foundation. Make them fix it. Talk to the GM if you have to.... This is a simple fix for them.

You could fix it faster with new fiber washers from the hardware store than the time it takes to ride to the dealer. I would attempt that before bothering with the dealer if it were me. You aren't wrong though, that should definitely fall under your warranty.

.

What part of the poster isn’t mechanical did you miss?

Anyhow...this should be addressed under the ESP. Leaking oil is not per specification. Escalate to HD if necessary.

Dealer gets paid for warranty work. Not sure why they’re such ****** about it sometimes.
