Default Heat Shields Or no?

Fellas,

Finally got around to taking my exhaust off and getting it ceramic coated. My question is putting the heat shields back on? Besides adding some bling? I am wondering if the really would feel that much heat off the pipes? I am thinking a nice clean set of black pipes might look best. THoughts?

With those shorties, I dont think they are going to make a difference with heat.

Those heat shields are there for a reason. Leave them on. Your passenger will thank you.

Frankly I like the look of the chrome on that color mix.

I'd install it without shields to see how YOU like the result. It's your motorcycle after all and they are easy enough to reinstall.

BTW when I install exhaust systems I anti-seize all the threads. Dry threads leave room for moisture intrusion which causes corrosion. Anti-seize prevents twisting off exhaust studs.

You can always get the heatshields powder coated to match.

I had my Thunderheader ceramic coated and ran them without heat shields for over ten years.
