I received an e-mail from a local dealer that they will give you FREE Tires for the life of the bike, provided the following conditions are met.

You buy the new bike from them.
You have them do all the service,
Then if they see a tire worn out, they will replace it free.

 

Might want to see what they charge for the major services (5k, 10k, etc.), I bet they'll do OK throwing in a set of tires once in a while

My dealer is offering lifetime warranty on all internally lubricated parts providing that you have all scheduled services done by them.

 

Services is where the money's at.
Sure, a dealer may make a couple thousand on a new unit, but they really score on the owners that choose to utilize the dealership's service crew.

 

You can buy a lot of tires from the money saved by doing the services yourself.
Free tires for life means pay the "tire taxes" at the service visits.

 

It would really depend on the type and quality of tire. Crappy stock tires for life isnt that great a deal for having to pay them for service.

 

Different dealers offer various promotions to drum up sales. Vreeland's Harley-Davidson offers a free lifetime powertrain warranty.

Think about it like this. If FREE tires for life or the LIFETIME warranty were good deals for the customer....they wouldn't be offering them.

 

Tires are free installation probably isn't.

 

Nothing is free.
