Bike is a 06 fxdi that was converted to carb.
Dont know now much about carbs.
Can an anyone tell me what is going on. Sluggish throttle response. Smoke. Sounds like a go cart!
Whats the fix? Rejet it?

Converted to carb? may that be an issue? electronics issue, ignition module, timing etc..if all is good with the conversion, be prepared to go with full tuneup. Plugs, carb rebuild/rejet etc. Also, someone in another thread mentioned compression, I learned way back in automotive school you cant tune an engine with broken internals, Do a compression check, once you figure the engine is tuneable, go for it on the tuneup.

EFI to carb conversion needs a stand alone ignition to work. ECU is basically useless, it only runs the speedometer. Before you start rippin something apart, check for a vacuum leak at the intake manifold seals. I have an 07 Dyna converted to a CV-40, so I'm gonna give you the best help I can.

The two holes in the heads are vent holes for the heads/rocker boxes don't plug those. To me sounds like it's running on one cylinder at idle. The mist coming out of the carb is gas and is some what norm. I would search the net on basic set up for Mikuni carbs as a start point. Don't give up, search the forums on DIY for Mikuni carb. tuning. If it was a Keihn CV40 we would be all over it.

Determine what aftermarket ignition you have (assuming one was installed, if not then that needs to happen).
