V-Rod factory break in oil
#2
Factory fill was Harley-Davidson H-D 360 Motorcycle Oil, SAE 20W50 non-synthetic. After the first oil change at 1,000 miles, Screamin' Eagle SYN3 Full Synthetic 20W50 was recommended.
Acceptable alternative designations include CH-4, CI-4 and CJ-4 oils at 10W40, 15W40, and 20W50 viscositities.
I personally use Mobil 1 V-Twin Motorcycle oil, 20W50 and a HD factory filter every 5,000 miles.

Good plan. I strongly recommend sticking with a HD filter. I tried the Mobil 1 filter spec'ed for the Revolution but it was missing the integral drain-back valve. Took an additional second or two for the engine to build up pressure as it filled the filter. No good. Stock filter is best, IMO. It's shorter and fits better as well.
