Sold my 2016 883 Iron and I want to buy a 2019 Softail Slim, well good luck finding one here in Western PA . I have called six dealers and no one has a Softail Slim in the showroom . Everyone wants me to order and wait 3-4 weeks . One dealer told me I should just buy a Road King , have no desire to own a Geezer glide at this time . I want a Softail. The salesman told me , " that is what sells" , Did you all see the Harley Davidson stock crash again today ? Sales down again. If you want to sell bikes you need to have the product in your stores . I'am really close to buying a 2019 BMW R Nine T .

 

Will the dealer give you what you pay for on a bike while waiting on your Slim?

 

You may have to go on a road trip, if you really want one in the garage ASAP.

It could be worse - back in the day (before my time), you pretty much HAD to go to the dealer, order a bike, and sit around waiting for it to be delivered.

 

Got three of them over here. These guys have been putting together good deals for a lot of folks. Give them a call, might be worth the drive.

Sold my Iron last week to a private party , I have six thousand dollars for a downpayment and great credit . The point to my post is I'am ready to buy now ! So where are you Softail Slim motorcycles for sale Mr. Harley Davidson? Your sales and stock are down. If Harley wants to sell me a bike they need to have it available now or I will buy another brand . If all Harley has to sell in their showrooms are Billet Barges then do not advertise on your Harley web site other models .

 

You do realize the dealers order their stock right? Sounds like you are upset with your dealers, not harley. Harley doesn't force dealers to have every bike in stock.

If you look at it from a business point of view, would you stock your store with a product everyone wants (ie baggers) and just a few of the lesser wanted items (ie softails/sportster), or would you stock your store with less baggers and more softails and cost yourself money because most of the market wants baggers? Can't hate them for running a business. Sounds like you should keep looking or order a bike

 

Just get a big kids bike. People with storage and weather protection, ride more. It is that simple.

 

A road king is a geezer glide? Damn.
