Default 2016 iron 883 starts but wont run!

So I have a 2016 iron 883 that only has about 2000 miles on it. It sat in a garage for about 1.5 years on and off the charger started occasionally. Had to use it when my car broke down charged it up started just fine rode home from my parents garage. The next day I decided to go run it, started just fine drove to the gas station filled it up. As soon as I started it up the throttle started being real jumpy, speedo stopped working, and check engine light came on. Rode home even with it being real jumpy and reving weird only a out 2 miles. Ran the codes popped up a map sensor code. Need help could it be just a bad battery and not enough power to run the computer properly? Clogged injectors from sitting so long? Please help!

Check your connections first. Could be a bad ground. Clean them and put some https://www.walmart.com/ip/Battery-P...UaAuUAEALw_wcB on it. You could have the battery tested, but I have had bad batteries, even though auto parts store said they were good.

If it still happens get a new battery.
I'm not much of a mechanic, so hopefully some better wrenches will chip in, if that doesn't work.

I've never tested a battery in my life.

I had a bike I was mad at that I maybe ran once a year for a mile, for 3 years. Though heat is hard on batteries.

Check connections on battery. Typical, but it started.

When you start bike at home, is it right off the charger? If not, battery is ok.

Instead of testing a battery, using multi meter and logic. Battery should be 12.7, with a good meter, after sitting for hours. 14.4 when reved up.

I really doubt ground. On most bikes, or one that new

My batteries last 7 years or more, but they are touring batteries, probably bigger. No secruity to draw on batteries.

Being so new I think battery, but new battery too. I dont know what salt of ocean adds to this.

New bike but I would test stator output before I wasted time take the battery somewhere.

Could it be the map sensor, that the code suggested? Odd so new. Check wires didn't get at by mouse or rub.

Even if battery bad, once running, as long as battery was marginal I think charging system would take care of you. Plus you went for short ride, but bike still started. So I am think look elsewhere first.

How old was the gas that was in it? I ask because if you only rode it 2 miles there may still be old fuel in the system. If not that start with the battery connections as mentioned and go from there. There's only three things a motor needs to run, fuel, air and spark. Figure out which one is missing and it wont be long until you find your problem.

The speedo thing makes me think Variable Speed Sensor. Check it and clean it off, seems like a fairly new bike for that type thing though.

What are the codes it is showing? I am thinking the injectors could be clogged or something g along the fuel system.
