Default Phone Mount Slips on Handlebar

I bought a clamp-on type phone mount for my 23 Breakout. The mount rotates on the bar as the rubber slides on the smooth chrome bar.
I tried wrapping bar with double sided tape. Soon as it gets heated up, the glue turns to liquid and mount slides around.

Anyone have a suggestion of how to use the mount on a chrome bar? Have one on my wife's Spyder but her handlebar is textured and mount does budge.

TIA !!!

It looks like you're asking for suggestions to use your existing mount but getting recommendations for other mounts. I agree with the other posters, however, I'll try to explain why. The mount you have doesn't appear to be the best design. Although I am a mechanical engineer, it doesn't take one to see that the points where the clamping force is exerted are rather close to where the 2 halves of the mount pivot. That means limited mechanical advantage and with the clamping halves being at least partially plastic, it doesn't make for a good grip. With all that being said, I use a Tackform mount and it is rock solid, however, it is a little spendy. I am of the mindset though to "Buy once, cry once".

Replace their rubber with inner tube rubber. Maybe going around twice with the inner tube strip?

I'm a EE but completely understand your points. The one on my wife's Spyder is solid on the textured handlebar.
I'll be looking into another mount, thanks.
