To my American ears, those heavy Scotland accents sound as wonderful as they do incomprehensible. Almost musical.

Progress on my project continues. No helpers this time. Just me.

Finish carpentry is not my strong suit. I can get there, but damn does it ever take me a long time. I bet I cut each piece three times before I get it right. Makes me envy the guys who know what they are doing and can do this sort of work efficiently. But all my tribulations aside, the baseboard and shoe mouldings are finished and ready for cault/paint.

Next task (and, mercifully, the last of the big ones) is the tiling. We are putting up a tile wainscot in the bathroom, as well as a tile backsplash. Got the bathroom finished yesterday and ready for grout.

Mr. Brown, you never cease to amuse me.

Lord knows I need the amusement after the apprehension of dredging up my marriage and divorce records earlier today at the courthouse.

I am having trouble renewing my passport hence the need to get that information. Then after that I went through the bullshit of them saying my birth certificate wasn't any good which I went through that crap before when I first got my passport and when I got my TWIC card. A trip to the clerk of court's office got that resolved this afternoon.

I wish they could streamline that for veterans somehow. I did my bit from 1989-1995.

Don't mind if I do - thanks! When the choir has assembled we'll give a touching rendition of a suitable ditty.......

Ugh. Feel better, eh?

Progress on the project is at that stage where it is coming in seemingly small slices. The big, dramatic stuff is over. Now it's just the nits.

Got a bunch of outlets replaced over the weekend. Those fancy ones are nice, but it seems like they take forever to install. Got another dozen of them done. Just about finished.

Did manage to have some fun. We have one window with an arch over it, so I had to carve out a piece of trim to go around it. Came out better than I hoped. Gonna need some help getting it fitted and installed, but that's ok. I like helpers.

We had a miracle the other day. Opened a can of paint, and this guy was staring back at me!

Better now, but that was the worst attack I ever had since I got out of the hospital. Bloodwork I got done on 1/26 showed high lipase which indicates a problem with the pancreas but everything else was fine including triglycerides which is what started this mess a year and a half ago. I am so thankful to have a very good GI Specialist. On Wednesday afternoon I have a check up with my regular doctor so he can refill my triglyceride medicine. I am hoping to ride my bike there.
