help on internal front brake line.

I would like to swap to internal throttle and front brake line on my apes. Thought about swapping to Gangsters but will save my money and stick with my current 16"s.

I noticed 2 members drilled a hole in their bars and ran the front brake line through the bars. I'm trying to figure out what size line and what fitting they used on the master side. It looks like it comes straight out of the master as opposed to the banjo I have now.

I'm going to run exile cycles throttle. Hoping it's a straight forward install.

Here are the part numbers I used for my internal line. Ordered them from JP Cycles. I found it was best to lightly heat the line at the bends to get a tighter radius, careful not to crimp it though. The fittings are very straight forward compression ring type. I ordered the extra olives and banjo washers just in case I buggered one up, but didn't need them.

241-669 Brake Line
240-0172 Straight fitting (black chrome)
240-0177 35* Banjo Fitting (black chrome)
972-649 Extra banjo washers
240-687 Extra olives (comp rings)

Good luck on the project, you'll love the exile throttle, high quality piece. Keep us posted on the progress!

Thans brother! Is welding on the exile necessary?
I'm also wanting to swap to hydraulic clutch ran internally. I see one that uses the stock cover and changes the ramp. Then another that replaces the cover with a big push rod. Any one better then the other? One is about 175 and the other is 250 or so.

Also what is needes to go from the black line back to stainless once it exits the bars?

Got exile throttle aND cable, hydraulic clutch kit, and the lines. How do I go from the black line back to stainless braided after it exits the below the risers?
I was going to swap to Carlini Gangsters but keep reading how much of a pain it is to run internal on them.

IMO, the throttle should be welded in, but it does come with set screws if you would rather not go through the hassle. I chose to weld it, heard from a few people who had some issues with the stability from the set screw setup.

I don't know anything about the hydro clutch conversions, but it sounds like you got that sorted already.

As for the brake line, not sure how you'd transition back to a stainless braided line. There are other systems out there besides the Russell one that I used, but can't recall the manufacturers. Maybe just black out the sled, makes finding parts so much easier! Lol

There had to be a way to add say a male fitting to the end of black brake line then get the proper length braided line with a female fitting on one side and caliper banjo at the other?

hydro clutch

Debating keeping these standard 16" apes or swapping to 16" Carlinis before I tackle the exile throttle.. I'll stay with 1.25" if I do though. Really not looking forward to re running the wires though.

Good luck doing full internals with 1.25 bars.
