V&H Short Shots for Breakout
I have 2013 Breakout and have been waiting for Vince & Hines to come up Breakout fitment of their Short Shots exhaust. So far, they have not stepped up and delivered. I assume business is too good for them.
What other options (aside from 2-into-1 and big radius, etc.) do we have for Breakout? Options that would be similar to Short Shots. There are few examples (Euro based) but I am looking U.S availability first. Here is Jekill & Hyde with Breakout fit: http://www.thunderbike.de/galleries/...881&height=587 ThunderBike (German) also showing Short Shots on one of their bikes but with a custom bracket. Thanks |
I have seen a lot of people running the short shots. As far as I have hear they don't need a custom bracket. If you want something similar, there is Bassani, Freedom Performance, and Arlen Ness's Magnaflow exhausts. I would say you have a lot of choices.

closest would be the freedom performance. but nothing is a direct equivalent to the short shots.
to me they are the best looking but have you heard them in person? they sound kinda tinny. i am going to order the bassani for my BO at the end of the month. |
The short shots work fine on a Breakout.
part number 47225 for black, or 17225 for chrome |
V&H reply to me about Breakout and Short Shots.
Chris, We do not make the Short Shots for the Breakout our only offering is the Big Radius 2-2. The pipes you are seeing on the Breakout are most likely H-D Softail Short Shots adapted to fit the Breakout. Even through the Breakout is technically a Softail it doe have it's own exhaust fitment due to the Large oil tank and wide swing arm. If you do put the Short Shots on a Breakout you will have to space the pipes away from the bike which will out the pipes in a bind and cause them to break over time. Man that Jekill & Hyde bike is awsome.

If you change the air cleaner and exhaust that flows more than the stock pipes and cleaner, yes, you need to get a tuner. If that's all you're going to do to the bike, no, you won't need to get it dyno tuned. Save the dyno tune when other internal engine parts are upgraded and you want to squeeze a little more power out of your bike.

The freedom exhaust would look killer on your bike, but they are expensive. What's wrong with the big radius? I think they are nicer than the short shots
