yeah the tank and adapter are just set and held in place by that screw driver lol. Adapter needs a trim near the rear mount I think.

Dude, you're the third guy I've come across that's working with this lucky sucker tank set up. I gotta say they look the business. Got me thinking now about one for my rocker.

I can't wait to see what your build ends up looking like. I'm subscribing to this bad boy.

I just finished doing wiring work on my rocker this weekend and all I used was the schemstics in the manual. This weekend was the first time I ever looked at one of those schemstics. If I was able to figure it out I'm sure as hell anyone can. You got the ***** to do all this on your own so I'm sure you're somewhat mechanically inclined.

Do yourself a favor and get a shop manual for that year bike. It will make your life so much easier. Instead of waiting for guys to chime in on the other thread you started.

Yeah I got the owners manuel and had to use it when I did my apes. Other than that the wiring was all crazy on the ignition switch which had connections and cross wiring or something every which way. So i simplified what wasnt being used such as dash lights and went on from the relays to ignition. Supposedly and hopefully 4 wires only needed to make a 3 pin conversion.

I'm leaning towards the actual HD springer also but I've seen some bobbers get away with the springer I got. See what happens I guess.

So I went bought a new ignition switch from the local bike shop. They hooked me up with drag specialties pn DS-272187 fits years 93-12. Worked flawless. All lights, signals and ignition fires great. Very easy mod if you can work around the clutter of the original 6 pin ignition and simplify. good 6 pin to 3 pin conversion. Also fits into the tank adapter perfectly and flush.

So I had to throw the bike together quickly since my main bike went down for the season. installed the ignition, tank mount and tank. A temporary rear fender has been put on with the stock tail light and small cheapo LED lights for signals. Fender struts from custom chrome look good. going for the bare metal look the remaining season that was left.
