HD 2000 Night Train... Wide Tire Kit Phatail Kit
Have 2000 HD Night Train...
Thinking hard about fattening up the back end. HD offers a 200 kit...I"m looking at a 240 kit of some sort.
PM Phatail 240 Kit Questions...
1. It appears the PM Phatail 240 kit uses the stock HD tranny (LSD). Won't the 240 kit and it's 'offset' create an 'unbalance' with the bike (center of gravity is altered bc of the offset)? I would assume it would to a certain and noticeable extent. Any comments please???
2. I would assume a 'better 240 kit' for my particular model would be a RSD tranny alteration and a wide tire kit with RSD tranny. This would alleviate ANY 'center of gravity' change with the bike. obviously this is a more expensive route .... RSD Tranny plus wide tire kit. I know Baker offers one. Any comments please?
I've never rode a 240 LSD wide tire kit Harley. I'm curious on how it handles and if the COG is affected with the considerable offset.

I don't think the small amount of offset would affect center of Gravity man. They've been selling those kits for ages now and I've never heard anyone complaint about the center of gravity being off.
Plus you're putting a really wide tire on the back so that's gonna erase any bit issue the offset might cause (if any). And that tranny is mounted low on the bike so it won't affect anything.
You're good to go as far as balance goes.
