Where is the 1.4mm at?

1" = 2.54 cm

That's what happens when I try to do math in my head...too many missing brain cells.

If that belt was exactly the same width as the sprocket it would probably chew up the sides of the belt and damage the edges of the sprocket.
That is true, but the gap in the pic he posted looks excessive to me.

I think the gap is too wide too. I've never seen a gap that wide on any belt driven bike. Usually it's sort of side to side afaik. I think there's still 2 other slims at the dealer, will check it out tomorrow. Have a day off so good to do some investigation work!

I checked the belts on all new softails at the dealership. They all have the same gap as I have. New belt type, stronger.

back in my machine repair days, if a belt went to one side and stayed there, then we would adjust it, if it wondered a little in off center both directions, then we left it alone.

A crowned pulley usually made adjusting easier..

Mine is jammed all the way to the right (inside) and stays there whether it gets rolled forward or backwards. Dealer looked at last week and said it should move towards one side or the other depending on if its moving forward or backwards. He is concerned about mine. He has me bringing it in tomorrow am for alignment check. I will post results.
