hi i am a proud owner of a 93 heritage softail classic 1340 cc evo motor, with s s-g performance carb, and updated with andrews cams w/vance and hines performance exhaust system.every item on this bike is updated and new as it was a company sponsored bike displayed at trade shows.it even won for best paint at a few shows.this is my first harley,so i am learning as i drive it.i made the mistake of trying to work on the bike myself, bad mistake cost me over 500 bucks because of my wrong doing.i got a question i just got a new oil pump cover installed on the bike, now i notice the motor runs a lot hotter then it did before, and has higher oil pressure then it did before,is that normal,i put 20/50 oil in it and the shop put 50 w in it,why so hot,the temp, gets up to 150 degrees ,is that normal, the oil tank gets hot on my leg.i cant afford to buy a new motor, iam afraid to ride it for very long on hot days.it makes a ticking noise from the engine,is that normal, the shop who put the oil pump cover on never said anything about the way it ran.maybe i should get a tune up ,then i know how my motor is.

Higher oil pressure is a plus, 150F oil temp is another plus, the ticking sound you mention needs to be isolated to get a better answer. Use a long screwdriver holding the handle up to your ear and the end of it on the top end, then on the bottom end. Sounds like a loose push rod but that's a premature answer.
