Surprised the Wife with a new breakout
Hello,
I am normally over in the Touring Forum since I ride a Road Glide. My wife on the other hand rides a Softail. With the great rates our dealer was offering over the weekend to get some bikes out the door I decided it might be a good time to upgrade her bike.
Her old bike was a 2001 Harley Deuce with 12,000 miles. Pretty much a stock bike other than a few comfort mods that we did to it. That was her first Harley and she was having issues putting her feet down and keeping up with me on the freeway.
I found a superior blue breakout in stock at the same dealer I purchased mine from. I got her into the store by telling her that mine needed some work due to a leak. Was almost 5 when we walked in and I said I had to go find the gentleman that will be taking care of the issue. So she went shopping and I got her to sit on a few bikes on the floor (including a silver breakout). She loved how the Breakout felt but was upset about the price being just north of 20k.
The sales guy found her bike in the back and came back up and offered a tour and close up of the 1915 they got in trade last year. So off we went into the warehouse and he was asking her what bikes she liked and what she rides. This went on for a few minutes till we got to the blue breakout. She said it was to dark but it was a beautiful bike. Then I told her to look closer and that is when she started swearing. She wanted a new bike but wasn't planning for it and was hesitant to give up the deuce. Though after getting it outside and having her ride a few miles she was sold.

Traded it in at the dealer. Funny they are few for sale out here with less miles and newer for what we got in trade. In fact they gave me what I paid for it 3 years ago.
I think that is why she was mad.
If anyone wants to know the Dealer it is Salt Lake City Harley.
