I have read up on air cleaners and apparently these can result in better efficiency for the engine causing it to run cooler, etc. But I am no mechanic, guys.

Can someone tell me if it would improve the bike to add an air cleaner without modifying the exhaust for my Fatboy 2015? At least for now I do not want slip-ons. I like the stock pipes a lot.

 

More air in needs more air out.

 

Got it. Is that what Slip-Ons accomplish?

 

If the slip-ons are less restrictive (not as much material blocking air flow resulting in a louder exhaust) then it should work.

You will need to update the map because it will change your air/fuel ratio.
