Has anyone removed the fishtails from the Samson True Duals? If so does it impact the sound any? I bought the bike with the pipes on it but am not so big a fan of the fishtails themselves. I love the sound and bark but I don't want to change the sound.

 

Anytime you change the air flow, the sound will change.

 

But this begs the question, does the geometry at the end of the pipe change the airflow to change the sound?

 

Yes. Any time you change the length, bore diameter, or shape you will change the sound.

This is exactly what is happening when someone plays a trombone.
