Default Oil from weep hole in rocker boxes behind spark plugs??

got my softail last weekend...yesterday I saw two drops of oil on top of my transmission... I see it is coming from the center of the rocker rear rocker box where you can see through it for "airflow" . it appears to be a small hole manufactured in the casting, I cannot find any information on this topic .all I see are rocker covers and the head gaskets themselves leaking. anyone know any idea what is going on here?

You did not tell us if your bike was new or used.

Either way, I do not like the look of that. If it were new, I'd tell you to go to the dealer.

To my eyes, the (what looks like) crack in the rear left corner of that hole is what concerns me most. I do not know if oil is seeping through that crack. Oil should not be in that area. If it is, I would suspect a problem. Not a gasket problem -as there is no joint in that area to leak from. There is some possibility that oil may be leaking from the breather bolt on the reverse side of the head and running through, but that (what appears to be a) crack bothers me.

Sorry to be the bad news guy.

Ride Safe!

Looks like a hole to me. Casting flaw or someone drilled a hole there for some unknown reason. Get a gasket kit and ck it from the inside out. Get it welded up

It appears you have a rocker box gasket leak. It is probably from not warming it up before taking off. Just change out the gaskets in the rocker boxes and you'll be good again. It doesn't look like a hole to me

Until the rear rocker box gets warm to the touch. Maybe a minute or two and the take it slow (throttle wise) until you get close to operating temp.

This is what you will need

This is a perfect opportunity to purchase an owners manual and because you are already going into the rockers, do cams too. Or just fix the leak. Here is a video to get you started

I've always gone by the idle... When it settles down close to regular idle speed, I know the bike is probably warmed up. Dunno if that's right, but it comes for my days riding older bikes and trying to let them warm up until the enricher circuit could be turned off.

To the OP, it doesn't look like a crack or hole to me either. Unfortunately, I think the only way to know for sure is to pull the roller boxes. Once off, try to see if you can see anything logical. See if there is a path that the oil is taking, etc.

And judging by the spark plugs I am assuming it's a twincam

As has been mentioned, you did not say if the bike is new or used and what year. It's not a weep hole, though. I have an '03, stock engine which I bought used that was doing the same thing. So when I changed the cam chain tensioners, I went in from the top to see what was wrong. Didn't see anything obvious but when I reassembled it with all new gaskets, the leak was gone. My bike's engine had been worked on before so made me wonder if the bolts were not torqued properly as it is the rear cylinder which is the more difficult one to work on.
