Arlen Ness 3" FC extension help needed
Installing the Arlen Ness 3" forward control extension on my '09 Softail Custom (FXSTC) and the left side was a piece of cake but the right side is proving to be more difficult. Currently I'm stuck trying to get the bolt out at the brake light switch. I have stock pipes and the exhaust pipe supports are preventing me from getting to the bolt that mounts the brake light switch to the frame.
Anyone else run into this problem? If so, how did you get around it? Do I need to remove the exhaust? (I hope not)?

I'll answer my own question and maybe it will help the next guy. You can't install the Arlen Ness 3" forward control extension on an '09 FXSTC with factory pipes without removing the exhaust and the exhaust support in order to access the bolt that secures the brake light switch and brake line to the frame.

Thanks for this info. I have a 07 FXSTC and when I get done with this life altering year long project in India, I will be installing the forwards on mine as well. Good to know I will have exhaust pipe to head gaskets in my parts list for this.
I hate exhaust leaks, and would rather be safe than sorry!
