Default Deluxe or Heritage?

Im to the point that Im ready to trade my 1200R and get into a BT. I had a deposit on a Street Glide but after riding it today I think a Softail might be a better fit for me. Now Im trying to determine whether to go with the Deluxe or Heritage? I love the looks of the Deluxe, but the windshield and bags on the Heritage are great (Id probably add those to the Deluxe eventually too). For some reason the Deluxe is just better looking, but the HEritage seems to have a better seat/seating position. THere isnt a big price difference, but the Deluxe is still cheaper. So which did you choose and why? Im going back to the dealer tomorrow and will be riding the SG and either a Deluxe or Heritage back to back for one last comparison before possibly making the commitment to sign on the dotted line.

If you like the bags and the heritage fits you better i would go with it.
I definitly like the softails over the SG but im biased. I ride a deuce. Maybe after you ride them again you can decide. Good luck and enjoy.

I own an 07' deluxe. If I had to choose all over again, I would still buy the deluxe. I love the retro look, plus I am short and like the low seat height.

My pick is the Heritage. I've owned two of them now and they're excellent bikes for my riding style. I do a lot of long rides and it's easy to ride 400-500 miles a day on these bikes. You also mentioned that the Deluxe was less money, however, if you add the cost of bags and a windshield to the Deluxe you would be at the same price, if not more, than a Heritage. Best bet is to ride all the bikes you're interested in then decide. I even rented the ones I was interested in, and rode them for a day, 250-300 miles, then made my choice. It was money well spent.

Can't go wrong with either one.As long as you stick with the softtail your going to love it. If you are looking for a comfortable ride there is a reason they called it a softtail. Anything else you will always be wondering!

Ride them both and buy the one that feels the best to you. The looks only matter if you'd rather admire the bike than ride it because you got the one that didn't feel right.
