Default 16 or 18 inch Carlini Gangster Apes

I have been google searching pics for a month now and I absolutely can't decide between the 16 or 18 inch Gangster apes. I'm 6'1 with a Softail Deluxe with a Le Pera Silhouette Solo seat and I want the bars really to be a tad above shoulders. I'm afraid to go with 18's because I have a stock front rim right now and afraid it will look like the bike is all handlebars if I go with 18's. If any of you guys have pics while riding or bikes still with 16 or 18 inch Gangsters please show them off. Ugh I'm having a hard time with this decision

I have the 16" Carlini Flying Apes (they are actually 17") with a similar setup (Deluxe, LePera seat) except I have the 21"/18" wheels. I am 6-0 and the grips are roughly shoulder height. You should be fine with either 16" or 18". Ron

16inch carlini gangsters. 1.5 diameter makes them actually like 17.5.. I'm 6-1 and they are just above shoulder height

Shameless plug here - I have a new, never run pair of Carlini Flyin Apes I'd like to sell. They're 1.5" diameter, 18" height.

I literally wired them up, and bolted them to my Road King. Then I ordered different bars and took them off.

They're great looking bars, but I had different ideas on the overall look I was going for.

If you're interested, I'm sure we can work out a deal that helps us both.

BTW, I have 1.25" diameter 18" Gangster Apes on my Road Glide. Love the look of them and the quality is great.

16's here with a low profile Danny Gray Buttcrack Solo seat. I'm 6'2" and am just above my shoulders where I have the bars set and how I ride (leaned forward a bit).

^^^nice. I thought i was the only 6'2" deluxe rider. Hey if you don't mind, what size tire is on the back of yours? My rear tire looks paper thin and it's the only thing bugging me about buying the deluxe.

apologies for the off topic question.

Anyone else have issues with their apes pulling back on them?

Dude! You're not s'posed to actually hang on them!

Seriously, if you didn't go with the right riser, you may not be able to clamp them tight enough.
