Default I need a turn signal bulb for my hertiage classic, had a question

This is my first bike so excuse me for not knowing this, but i was just checking over my bike and noticed that a rear turn signal was out.
My question is can I get a replacement bulb at a regular carstore like an Autozone, or parts americas. or if they need to be bought at a harley shop because they are specialty bulbs.

They are regular 1156 automotive bulbs.

Like DMSC said the rears are 1156, and the fronts are 1157. Avalable virtually anywhere, including many grocery and chain drug stores believe it or not.

I'm sure you are going to pay 3X more for an official "HD" turn signal bulb comparred to the exact same bulb you buy from the auto parts store.

I'm looking at getting bulbs that appear to have a mirror/chrome appearance but light up amber. I probably would have gotten them already but I don't think they are as bright as the stock bulbs.

Don't be so sure, I have had the Sylvania Silverstars in my bike since I got it.
Behind the clear lensesthey are at least as bright as the stockers, and they should be just as goodbehind the smoked lenses.

The camera's flash makes them look a little amber, but under normal day light conditions they look slightly silver/blue.

Its hard to get a decent shot of them lit up as the camera auto dims them down a bit.

They look a lot better than the stockers do if you like theclear lenses.

There are only two bulbs I can get to last any lenght of time in my Heritage and thats bulbs purchased from Harley or bulbs purchased in some truck stops. They are supposed to be "heavy duty" bulbs. Not sure what the difference is but the bulbs I bought at Autozone and through Drag Specialties won't last a week in my bike.

Oh and one piece of advice that an old timer gave me was to put some die electric grease on the bulb and that will make it last longer.

I have the Sylvania Silver Star bulbs with the smoked lenses. I think they are a smidge brighter than regular 1156/1157 bulbs.
