Fat Boy S Cruise Control Intermittently Working
The red light on my dash has come on twice in the past month for no reason that I could figure out until today when I put the cruise control on and the red dot lit up at the same time and my cruise control would not engage. After a few minutes the little red dot disappeared and cruise was working. However, I didn't trust it and turned it off again.
How I hate electrical gremlins they always seem to follow me from bike to bike. Another trip to the dealer coming up for warranty work.

I bet one of your brake switches is sticking. My front brake lever doesn't always extend all the way forward, just enough to keep the brake switch on. If the brakes stay on at highway speeds, the red light will come on after a while until you push the lever forward so the bike thinks you are not applying brakes.
I would look at that. If the issue happens again, push your brake lever forward and see if the light goes out and cruise works again. If so, then it might still be covered under warranty.
Good luck
