Default Any market for a 96ci motor

I inherited a project bike. 2 motors and the lesser of the two is a 96ci from a softail. Is thee a market for them? What's a good asking price? Motor runs great, Andrews cams installed. Trans is a 6 speed. About 23k on the odometer.

I should think so, especially the 6 banger.

One of the dealers by me sells take out 103 A engines with less than 10 miles on them for $1200. These are engine being pulled out of new bikes to install 120R's before the customer takes delivery. The dealership gives $500 credit on the new engine for the old one. Knowing the B engines are not as common as the A engines, and they fact that it is a 96" I would think you could get $700-900 for it, maybe another $300 for the tranny...

I'd buy it if shipping wasn't an issue. But it would probably cost almost as much to ship it as it would to buy it

It would be nice to have a spare to build over time, then swap out on completion

I've always wondered if you could just bolt a B motor in place of an A motor on a touring bike. Should a guy want to do so. Seems if you could, you would have one smooth running motorcycle.

Is this even a viable quest?

Sight unseen, to me it's just a "core," or something that is rebuildable.
It could have unseen issues like broken mount tabs, stripped bolt holes, various other things. So I wouldn't be willing to pay what a motor that was sitting in front of me that I could see running.

I'm at $600 delivered to my door in at 93611

You could probably do better with a local buyer. But if there is none, you have an offer on the table
