Cost to paint a Fatboy
When she came out of storage this spring, I noticed she's looking a little tired. 2000 Fatboy, well modified and 26k miles on it so there is lots of life yet.
I'd like to have it painted over the next storage season. Nothing extravagant, maybe some ghost flames on the tank. But both fenders and tank, and whatever else gets painted.
What can I expect to pay? It's in NW Wisconsin now but may be near Austin TX this winter.

The minute you said "ghost flames" you doubled, and in some cases tripled the budget. Ghost flames don't just happen. They are an advanced skill that few people posses. I am a Wyo Tech grad and have been painting for decades, and I couldn't do a set of flames, let alone ghost flames I could sell to a client.
A single color paint job at a low end shop with YOU pulling the tins, 600-800 bucks. Anything more and the price goes up fast. Macco will actually shoot tins pretty reasonable, if you stay simple.

I R&Rd the tins. Local custom shop, 60 days downtime, during which I did a bunch of maintenance while I dad access

Check out www.crazyhorsepainting.com in Charlotte NC. Not sure if they do ghost flames but they do nice work.

Yup. It can be quite a wide range. Including getting a brand new tank sealed on the inside, my new paint on a 2002 Fat Boy was $2400. Specialist Paint brand color shift paint. This included artwork. I don't have a better shot of the paint right now. Bike is in shop getting a carb issue sorted out.
