Default Anybody else have lowered the front wheel fender?

After looking at some of the pictures I took, I realized the front fender is way too far from the tire. So I measured and drilled 4 new mounting holes and I had to cut a little bit off of the shock guards (its only on the CVO)
If you click on the pictures, you can zoom in (sorry, I don't know why my pictures are loading up in doubles)

Agreed, In general for the last 30 yrs HD has had the cheapest looking ft fenders. But don't get them too close. On a HOT day in CA on the freeway going 90 the tires will expand and rub till your paint bubbles off! How do I know this? Take a wild guess.

I left about 1/3" gap. Thanks for the info, I hope it wasn't too bad after your paint bubbled up!
I see you're in LA too, I'm in west LA. These pictures were taken on Mulholland and some Malibu canyons.

Oh yeah, I had to sand and repaint, I think it's about 1/4 of an inch now. We should get some guys together and do a Rock Store run!

+1 on that,
same happened to me over here in the Uk and it's nowhere near as hot (unfortunately).
I also cut 6" off the length, did that on the original 21" fender and also on the current 19".
