Over 1200 miles in 3 weeks on my new 114 Fatboy, the exhaust is significantly cooler than my '15 103 ULL. Only caveat I'll add is I did a lot of summer heat riding on the 103 and didn't get the softail until October. I've found the primary cover to be a bit warmer and the air cleaner cover also gets warm but nothing I can't stand. I assume it's just sun heating the metal on the air cleaner cover.

We ended up getting it in black but I started doubting myself a bit after the first ride. Appreciate the reassurance!
The 107 is likely a bit cooler just because it's the smaller engine, but nothing I'd choose it over the 114 for if I'd decided I wanted the 114. The 103 was hot enough I'd take a different bike on hot traffic days. The 114 is bearable at least, though it's still pretty warm if you're stuck standing still. Not hurting the motor, just the nature of a big air/oil cooled lump.

I've had some 110 degree days and the bike was still all good for me. On the hottest days, if I place my feet a little wider on the boards it adds about an inch between my legs and the bike while still solidly on the boards. Can hardly feel the heat from there even at extremely crawl speeds.

South Florida here so you know it's hot all the time, I have over 2000 miles on my 114 Heritage now and I am so happy about the lack of heat. Just watch your left calf on the primary at traffic lights, though it doesn't burn my skin through my jeans I can feel it. But the thighs .... feeling good, I do not think I need a Capt Itch crotch cooler (sorry Larry and Isabelle).

I put 1000 miles on my Fatbob 114 in a week and a half. While there is heat (it’s a big ol’ engine), so far it’s far more tolerable that the 103 I had in a Road King back in 2013. The real test will be next July and August!

Just a slight feel of heat near my inner thigh when stopped with my feet down on a Fatbob 114 with 4700 miles. Compared to my other Softails it feels like an ice cube.

I've got the 107 heritage, and no heat issues at all.
