Default 2018 peeps! How's the heat?

Would those of you who are enjoying your new 2018 Softails chime in and share your impressions of the motor heat compared to the 103 and 110 Twin Cams?

I have the 114 heritage for 4 days now and no issues with heat yet. I'm in AZ with 103 temps here in Tucson. I have been riding it every day. came from a 17 limited and a 14 RK. This bike is a GAME Changer.... the suspension alone is worth the upgrade...

Thanks Lexpert! That's what I'm hoping to hear! Looking at the same model tomorrow, but I know the test ride won't be long enough for an in depth opinion.

@lexpert I just picked up the 114 too- I upgraded from my a Triumph Bonneville so it could just be some getting used the much bigger engine. I love everything about the bike, but its definitely hotter than my old one and the right side of the bike did seem to get pretty hot pretty fast (only around 15 min of riding.) Not too bad from a proximity standpoint but definitely hot to the touch. Is that normal for you?

I forgot all about this thread! 2600 miles on my 114 and loving it. Much less felt heat than my '16 RK.

Dov, I'm not surprised your bike is hotter than your Triumph was. From your description I'd say it sounds normal. Enjoy.

Thanks Thingfish! The dealer was really trying to get me to land on the 107 (because he couldn’t get a 114 in black I’m sure) saying the 114 was much hotter and I think he got into my head a little bit. We ended up getting it in black but I started doubting myself a bit after the first ride. Appreciate the reassurance!
