I don't agree with the guy in the video when he said they'll be a lack of accessory options and handlebars will be hard to swap out. In time they'll be plenty of aftermarket accessories for these bikes and if someone wants to go with fatter handlebars they already make plenty that taper down to 1 inch so the stock clamp would fit. The only way I see a problem is of someone wants to eliminate the clamp altogether.

When they first came out I reacted too quickly and didn't like the Street Bob much. But given some time and after seeing one in person that changed for me. It's a sweet looking bike and every review I've read on it says they handle great and are a lot of fun to ride...big grin factor. It would be a perfect mid range bike for 200 to 300 mile days of country riding and mountain carving, as well as an every day bar hopper/commuter bike.

I think they'll sell a ton of them.
Agree 100%. Fun as heck.

I love it now. I don't know if it's gotten quiter over the years or I'm going deaf but it seems perfect now.

The bike in the video sounds a lot more like my Vulcan than my Ultra. I wouldn't like it, but that's just me.
That's the point Ron, your '03 FLH already had a stage one. When it was stock it was quieter than the '18 in the video and much less deep. You've got to know what you're listening for in the first place. Nothing stock is going to sound close to a stage one. (Aside from a Ducati Monster 1200...which still sounds better with slip ons)

I have to add the Aprilia Tuono to that list. I rode one with stock cans last summer and that V4 motor has an amazing growl to it.

I talked to my dealer today and confirmed that, for Stage whatever upgrades to be covered under factory warranty, they must be dealer installed within the first 60 days. And then they need to send in some paperwork to get it recorded as added to your warranty.

They said that upgrades done outside of this window or by 3rd parties are not covered, but that they would honor the warranty on the rest of the bike and only have an issue if there was evidence that the non-covered upgrades were the cause of problems that require repairs on the covered parts.

I've got 1,000 miles on the bike now and, as impressive as it is, it's apparently now or never, so I ordered the parts for Stage I & II (torque). It's really nice as is, but I think a Breakout 114 should be more bad *** than nice.

The longest back-order item is September 25th, and that's only the ship date. So this won't happen until October. Looking forward to hearing/feeling the difference.

DanBO18: Bike looks great. But to me anyway the truncated stub rear fender on this model with a single seat set-up looks really bad-to-the-bone.

Yeah I'm going to have to decide sooner than later. For stage 1 I wouldn't sweat it, but if I'm putting in the torque cam I want it to go with my warranty...hmmmm. I hate deadlines. The Heritage is geared taller than your Breakout so even with the cam I'd probably just be about where you are stock. What's your rpms at 75mph? I'm at about 2750 in 6th on flat road. I'd be curious to compare.

Seems the Heritage is geared the same as the other '18 Softails. I was under the impression it was taller...my bad repeating info without confirming.

I agree. But it also needs backing to keep your butt in the seat when its pulling hard. And it pulls very hard. Since I'm tall, I'm going to try a tallboy seat. It's a one-piece two-up that positions the rider up and back from normal. I think/hope it might look a little better than the big separate pillion. In pictures it seems to have the effect of shrinking the passenger portion of the seat. Kind of a half-step toward a solo seat with the backing needed plus better leg position, at least with my preference, especially when combined with the forward controls.

But the easiest mod to make is the seat. (Not so easy on the wallet!) And I do like the solo rider look too. It may be a journey in search of the perfect seat.
