There are issues on the touring M8 bikes that the neither the motor company nor the aftermarket has a fix for such as fluid migration.
First year production carries a risk that is mitigated by warranty

Yeah, I've never been a warranty guy before, but this time I'm taking care to keep it...even got an extended one, just to protect from all the "new" potential issues. Down the road if the bike earns its keep I'll open the goodie box more. For now I'm playing it safer to keep it on the road as much as possible.
I've gotta redo the wiring on the FXR soon and that's enough of a bug hunt for me without worrying about the new bike too

Well, I'm letting go the stage 3 temptation for now. Too many unanswered questions about oil migration and sumping with the stage 3 and 4 kits in the touring line. I know it's a different motor, but the more I'm riding the stock 114 the less I'm feeling the need to upgrade that much and I feel the risk is unwarranted in my case. It's getting bettter and better as it breaks in. I'm still thinking of a possible stage 2. Slips-ons for a stage 1 I'd like to hear in person. Overall 1,000 miles coming up and really enjoying the bike.
