Default '18 Heritage Fork Wind Deflectors ???

Has anyone come up with the Fork Leg Wind deflectors like the famous "Fangs" that work so well on the Touring Models. They are amazing on my '14 RK and looking for something that is similarly effective on my soon to arrive '18 Heritage.

For the pre-18's the Softail Fangs (P/N 57400143) have an optional vertical hole spacing of either 6 or 7.5". If the 2018 Heritage has existing windshield attach hardware close to that spread then they probably can be mounted. The holes can be enlarged some to fit.

The mounting points on my '18 seem very similar to my '16 RK. Hardware on the bike seems nearly identical too.

Someone please measure the mounting point span on the upper forks for some of the 2018's so we'll know. I have a '18 Softail Slim coming in a month and would like to know if the pre-18 HD fangs might fit.

I just installed them on my fat boy by drilling a new hole below the lowest one by about 1/2 inch. Mounted outside the new shield. Worked great.

Ok Tom good to know. Maybe they're an ~8" spread between upper and lower holes for 2018. Easy to drill a new one below the lowest one as you did. Thanks for the reply. Enjoy your new HD!

Yes, like 8 1/8" inch or so. As they say, measure twice, drill once.

After getting a windshield and putting the deflectors on, the wind is not bad for a cruiser. Now to fix that terrible seat and the worst engine I have ever driven, the 114.

The deflectors do reduce the updraft from below the windshield. The taller the shield the worse the air buffet trying to fill in behind.

I guess when I install them I'll fasten the top bolt loose then swing or tap the deflector against the bottom fastener head to mark the location. Make it large enough for later fore and aft adjustment if I install engine bars.

Read about your vibes. Might look for obvious engine and exhaust contact with the frame or boards. Also try loosening, running the engine briefly, and retightening the exhaust system's fasteners. Sometimes the exhaust binds or whatever and needs to be reset. Same for engine mounts. The dealer should have a look and see what they come up with.
