My new Fat Bob 114
Today I traded in my BMW RnineT for the new fat bob 114. Super stoked about it. Never been into Harley until a few months ago when my buddy bought one.
I test rode the fat bob 114 last month (and blogged about it, if you are interested https://www.void-mc.com/2017/09/14/fatbob-first-ride/ ) Very happy and love the new ride! https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...dfd01d1aac.jpg Fat Bob 114 in Bonneville Salt Denim |
Now you need to work on your picture taking skills.
Just kidding. Like I say, ride what makes you happy. Glad you found something that does. |
Those big mufflers with little outlet holes sure look like a jap bike from the rear.

Congrats on your new bike! I love the look of the new Fat Bob, have fun that 114 is a kick. Still working on breaking my Heritage in, but that engine wants to GO!
Keep us updated if you start making mods. |
Congrats on your new Harley! Have fun.

Congrats! Enjoyed your blog review. I had the same experience in 1992 when I had been riding a Honda Hawk 650 around the country and a '73 Moto Guzzi Eldorado. My buddy let me take a ride on his new FXR Low Rider - which I immediately thought looked more like a Yamaha clone than a Harley. 30 minutes later my concept of motorcycles, and Harleys, was forever changed.
Most motorcycles are designed to efficiently carry out your rider commands...a Harley gives you completely new ideas and makes you want to throw out whatever you were planning and just ride. Most bikes need twisty roads or scenery to really be in their element...Harleys just need to be looked at and sat on to make you happier. Idling, block to block, back roads, canyons, freeways, getting groceries...it's all good on my Harley. Your 114 motor with all its gear driven aspects will get significantly looser and more powerful as it breaks in over the first 1,000 miles. Also, you're right it's smooth at idle, but you'll find there is plenty of great vibes there above 2400 rpm. Plenty of character feedback in these motors. Also your air filter is a stage one housing, but it's still got a restrictive backplate. For a true stage one that will need to be altered if you add pipes and a tuner later. I have an R9T also so I know what you traded. Both great bikes. I have your Fat Bob's older brother in my sig pic. It's always been a slightly odd duck styled model, but that's never stopped it from being a great bike. These new 114s are beasts!! Enjoy! |
Congrats! Perfect first pic... It’s In Da House!
