Default IF you are considering a C&C seat..

I had C&C Motorcycle Seats build a custom seat for my 06 Heritage softail Classic. Very pleased with it. I sent them some pictures of my ideas and they nailed the look I was going for. Great customer service and I received my seat in about a week. The stitching is perfect and quality is impeccable. I am 6'-1" to 6'-2" , depending on which convenient store I'm leaving, and their 2 piece solo sits me in the perfect position on my Heritage with 18'' apes. About an inch higher than my bare bones and about an inch lower than stock. I have put about 900 miles on it this week and it gets more and more comfortable with each ride. C&C's product is solid and service is outstanding. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality custom, comfortable, and badass saddle.

That's nice work.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the price range of a setup like that?

I got the passenger pillion, driver backrest, solo with gel pad and custom stitch design with accent strip so it ran me right at $950 including shipping to NC. Their more standard seats are less. After getting it and riding on it the past week, I see it as money well spent.

Have you ever used a seat with a gel insert?

Cool. I had a seat that had the gel insert and it was absolutely undrivable after it heat soaked all day. I could not sit down on the seat as it would transfer all that heat to your butt when you sat down on it and it got hotter the longer you sat in it! Glad yours worked out!

How comfortable is the passenger pillion? I have been considering a similar setup for my softail. I would like to downsize my seat collection. (Solo Lepara, Stock for 2 up, badlander)

I haven't had this setup long enough to give you an opinion on the pillion. I will update after my ole lady has had some time on it but it seems like it would be the same or a little more comfortable than a standard pillion because of the wider rear part.
