Default How do I clean out my Rocker's gas tank?

I just got my 2009 Rocker C gas tank returned from the powdercoat shop (along with a bunch of other parts). They did a nice job of preventing sand from entering the gas tank when sandblasting the old paint off, but I noticed some light dust is visible inside the tank. I can run my fingers along the bottom of the tank and don't feel any sand granules, but can just see a light layer of dust inside. Question: What's the best way to make sure the inside of my tank is nice and clean before I begin to reassemble the fuel pump and gauge and put it back on my Rocker and fire her up?

Thanks for the replies! I'll give the air hose at my local gas station first crack at blowing the stuff out of the tank, and will follow-up with the Tack Cloth. Hope it works!

I didn't even know what a tack cloth is man ! So every day is a school day right Google and all .
Do those things and if you're still worried about it flaking/rusting in there used to be a two pack of stuff ya mix up and coat the inside of the tank with , I did it with an old Shovel Widey and it worked.
Cheers HTH.

Put a little gas in the tank, slosh it around a bit then pour it out. Repeat until the gas comes out with no particulates!

I was going to suggest this but thought I'd stay on the safe side.

I agree, rinse it out with fresh gasoline.

As long as there is no sparks or open flame it is safe. Plus now would be a good time to put in a tank sealer to prevent future rust.

Go to aircraft supply store and get aircraft tank sealer, works great.
