After wasting a half an hour on the K & N website, I decided to write them using the email address they provided. See below:

Don't bother; it doesn't work!!! My letter is languishing in my drafts folder. You'll have to call the phone number. Let's see if they've got that right!!

According to HD, their oil filter for the 2018 M8's:
"Fits '17-later Milwaukee-Eight®, '99-'17 Twin Cam and '99-later Evolution models (except '08-'13 XR) and can be used as an upgrade for any motorcycle that requires Oil Filter P/N 63796-77A, 63805-80A, 63812-90 or 63813-90."
The KN-171B is what you want.

K&n
That's what is on my 2018 heritage classic 114. works perfect. Don't waste your time calling K&N. I got some chick on the phone that didn't have a clue. I told her that dealer told me the MOCO didn't change filters from the late model twin cam to the M8 , so the 171-B should work. She told me no it wont work. Some K&N tech ?

I didn't think they changed them especially after seeing the 2017 M8s used the same as the TC's. I figured mine would be the same as the 2017s. I would've just went to Harley and bought one but I'd rather have the K&N. I like the nut on the end of the filter plus they have a pretty good rep..
