Default Ditch the tank console, relocate the speedo?

Thinking about trying a stretched bagger tank on the Fatboy I'm working on, which would mean ditching the tank console and relocating the speedo and everything else there.

Anybody done this? Difficult?

I looked into this last year.
Relocate the accessory switch to where the cow bell horn normally sits. That space is already available on mine after relocating the horn and coil years ago.
Install a new speedo to the handle bars or triple tree.

Plenty of kits out there on the internet.
Got too expensive for me to consider unfortunately.

Forgot to mention fitting the Blackline Dash to cover the weld and EFI pump, just like some of the Breakout guys have done.

The speedometer is on the other side originally but I flipped it to lift my tank.

Thanks for the pic.
May I ask, why did you lift the tank?
Cosmetic reasons? I've been considering that too. Does it look better?
Got a profile picture of the bike after the lift?

You may :-)
I did it just for the looks.
Actually I will do it. It’s a winter mod with some other stuff.
You can find pictures in the forum or google

I did this mod years ago and it does look good but it does add up in price. It is not hard to extend the wires to make them reach all the new places but you do have to consider how much a new speedo and dash is in addition to the cost of the new tank. There are companies that make a stretched softail tank and be able to swap out for the cats eye dash to save some money.
