Does anyone know if the stock tank bibs on the 2018 Heritage and Deluxe are actually leather? I swear, the one on my new Deluxe kind of looks and feels like it's vinyl. The stock bib on my '17 is leather...

Also, the bib on my Deluxe doesn't sit flush against the tank. Should I just be able to try and get it a bit tighter by removing the bolt near the tank and pulling on the bib a bit?

 

It's leather, it's just the way it's treated to withstand the elements. Mine doesn't sit flush either, pulling won't help because it's bolted in more than 2 places. At least i think so, I do leather work and want to custom make my own tank/fender bibs but after removing the 2 tank bolts the bib won't come out. It has to be connected somewhere else. Can't get the console to move either.

I can get the bib to move side to side but not out. Time to hit the dealer and pick their brains....

 

 

I've actually been looking to buy a Switchback tank bib if you're interested in parting with yours...

 

Capt Itch sells tank and fender bibs. He originally sent me the wrong one and just sent me the correct one for the 2018 so stand up guy. His is all leather with felt backing. Comes in numerous designs stamped into the leather.
