Default Windshield question I am sure you will know the answer

Hi Guys

I hope someone can be so kind and help me out here. I bought this windshield for my 2014 Slim. I just have windshield no other hardware when I put this thing on the bike looks like there is quite a bit of space between the bracket from windshield and tripple tree. Is this normal?

I know I will need some screws, spacers and plastic groomets to install this thing but is there anything else I am missing?

Can someone please post few pix of their windshield installed and front end after windshield is removed? I really would like to see this.

That looks normal for width and spacing and yes you require additional parts to complete your installation. It looks like the OEM quick detachable windshield from a Softail Deluxe which shares the same FL front end as your bike. Google up Ronnie's Harley online microfiche and check out the exploded parts view of the windshield assembly and you will see what is required along with the HD part numbers and current price. Ronnie's is a great online tool and resource. Invaluable. Also should add that you can look up the windshield kits on Harley USA website and most if not all kits show a PDF document with installation instructions and these include a list of service parts (replacements) along with part numbers.

Here's the best pics of that area that I have. Mine may be slightly
different than yours since I have AuxLights on a bracket.

Sorry I dont have any good pics of that area without the windshield.

hth,

I feel I can make it work but would need length of these bushings as these are different lenghts on top and bottom. Can anyone help me to measure these? I will really appreciate it. If by any chance I can get that in mm it will be even better. Oh I am getting close to get this done I think

I gave you the information already on how to look up and find all the required parts. If you checked the Harley website for the windshield kit for the Softail Deluxe you could view the installation instructions and find a list of all "service parts". The windshield you are trying to install is from a Deluxe. The photo above is a Heritage style fit. Look at where the spring tab is located compared to yours. The one above is inside the windshield frame and yours is external.

Scroll to the bottom of above link and look at part nos. 24 & 25

you can order from 'online' dealers such as Boardtracker,
NewCastle, and Surdyke for alot cheaper than your local dealer...

http://www.boardtrackerharleyonline.com/
https://shop.newcastlehd.com/
https://www.surdyke.com/Search.aspx

otherwise, good luck,

T.
