Default 2018 Fatbob - Peg Scraping?

I'm thinking of upgrading to an 18 FatBob and was wondering if any current owners or people that have taken it for a test ride have managed to scrape the pegs yet? Either with ordinary riding or spirited riding?

There have been some reviews already where spirited/aggressive riding have had the pegs touch down/scrape. i think Revzilla's Lemmy may have in his review. With my background with sport bikes and road racing, I don't find scraping pegs on something like a harley a difficult thing to do.... what do you really want to know about scraping pegs and the Fat Bob specifically?

There isn’t a bike built that you can’t cause parts to scrape on. The only difference is how far over you need to go for it to happen. That’s where looking up specifications like lean angles come in.

i took a demo ride today on 2018 fatboy , i had a hard time cornering the bike due to the fat tires. the fat front tire made it hard to corner....i did not not like it....also, i did not hear any scraping of pegs...my 2nd demo ride was on the breakout, i liked that bike better and seemed to be faster...the breakout left me with some excitement, where the fatboy did not... there were a lot of people looking at the fatboy today, but my heart would be with breakout

I scrape the pegs on my wife's Monster 1200 and my R9T Racer. It would be easier on the Fat Bob, but mostly to do with the forward controls and I don't think by much. Generally there's plenty of clearance for fun.

I hate scraping pegs and I do it on my Iron 883 without even trying sometimes. I said to myself the next bike I get has to give me better lean angle. I know the Fatbob has more lean angle on paper, just wandering what peoples real life experience is. I want a bike I can take corners on without having to worry about scraping pegs for ordinary riding.

With all due respect, the only way to tell if YOU are going to scrape pegs is to ride one yourself.
This is about like asking which exhaust sounds best or which seat is most comfortable. Everyone rides differently, very subjective question.

27/28 (iron) versus 31/32 (Fat bob) degrees is going to feel a lot better.

There is also a lot of riding technique you can master that will dramatically increase your turning ability without increased lean angle.

I test rode one a couple times yesterday and didn’t scrape the pegs. The pegs are little stubby ones like on the Vrod.

I loved the bike. Suspension on the new softail is far better than my RGS.

This.

I can’t tell you how often I see people taking a mild curve at moderate speed with their bike leaned over twice as far as it needs to be simply because they don’t have good technique.
