Default Help-- Clutch cable replacement

I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out the length of a replacement cable for my bike

Background info

2005 Fat boy with factory risers and HCC 13 inch ape hangers.
This will be the 3rd cable going on the bike in 5 years for different reasons.

Cable that came with the kit fit fine but developed a leak
I called HCC at the time and they said I need a 70inch cable so I ordered a 70 inch cable from motion pro ( they say it is 70 inches from housing end to housing end). This cable was always too long by at least 2 inches but it works. You can see in my sig picture how long this cable is...the bar bag is holding it back

Ran into an issue the other day while out with the clutch cable or something binding so I have the right side aprt and am going to replace the cable

I looked at the original email form HCC and they say 70 inch cable and when I look it up on their site, the housing length is the same as the cable now.

I have been looking online for the best way to measure everything and i get a different answer from every site

just looking for advice from people that have change bars and cables if you think if I order a +4 cable , housing length 68 inches if this will work

This cable measurement crap is confusing

Hey man, did you ever get this figured out. I am in a similar situation and need to find a proper sized cable.
