Default Touring on the new Fat Bob

Picking up a new Fat Bob 114 as soon as the 2019’s come out this September. Just curious who’s put some serious miles on their 18’ model during a single trip and what was that like. Can this new Bob tour cross country? Other than having to keep getting gas ever 150 miles how comfortable is it for long rides?

I’ve done 500mi or about 10hrs in a day. It was great didn’t have one issue. That being said the bike fits me perfectly from a comfort standpoint.

Default Seats

Has anyone tried the mustang seat for their fat Bob yet? I am curious as to how the 16 inch looks compared to the 14in as well as just a solo seat. I need to get a new seat for two up riding and debating on just the sundowner or the extra $100 for the mustang and extra inch on the pillion.

Damn - get it NOW so you can ride all summer. I doubt there will be many (if any) changes to the Fat Bob for '19....

I have done several long (400-500+) mile days on the bike and it is great. No issue touring cross country - solo. Might be different with a passenger!

ETA - a windshield makes a big difference for long days. I have the 19" version and really like it. You'll also want luggage of some form, and I can recommend the large HD rolling tour bag. It's got enough space for a week's worth of stuff for me.

Trying to order it now; we're working out the arrangements on a custom color for it, so ... check back in a few weeks maybe and I should have an answer for you...

Awesome! Definitely let us know how it goes and post a few pics.

For anyone else looking now, this link has them fit 10% off and site says “in stock.”

Default Saddlemen step up.

Who has one and how do u like it? What’s it like on a long ride compared to stock? Does the riding position change much? Would love to see some pics.

Got the solo with backrest and passenger seat. Looks just like the pics on the mustang site. Looks good to me and more functional than stock. Guess a lot depends on size of riders.

Do you mind taking a pic or two from the top or at an angle to see if hangs over the much farther than the stock seat? So far the longest I have done is 2 hours and I was ok. Mostly looking for the best passenger seat I can get for the wife. Riding weight for me is about 165 and wife is at 130 so say 300lbs total.

I sent an email to Avon and Pirelli to get a tire recommendation from them. Hopefully they reply!

I think both brands are radial-type for the rear tire.

I'm looking forward to having proper tires. The bike handles great now so it should be really awesome with good tires.

I installed the electronic cruise control module last night. It took me maybe an hour and just a few tools. Fishing the wire through the bars was very easy. All the wire connections are on the left side of the frame neck. I didn't have to remove the tank even though the service manual said it needed to come off. My dealer "activated" the cruise for free. I just bought the bike so that was probably why they didn't charge me. I think it took the technician less than 5 minutes to do.
