Thinking about the 2018 Sport Glide
Hello, after test driving most of the new bikes I'm leaning towards getting the sport glide. I have a 1200C sporty now and Iove this bike but the reasons to upgrade are having a 6th gear for longer rides, lower center of gravity so even though it weighs more than the sporty it seems lighter. I'm about 5' 6 and can flat foot more at a stop than I can on the sporty.
The handle bar reach on the sport glide is a stretch, no arm bend so I need either a riser or different handle bars. I am also trying to find a sissy bar with rack that would allow me to put luggage on. I don't want any luggage on for around town riding. Another thing is the screen, I would like the option for a larger screen for the longer road trips - was had HD yesterday and they don't offer any larger screen other than the 5" insert for the stock faring.
There doesn't seem to be many accessories for this model yet so anyone that has found a good handle bar or sissy bar/ rack items you're happy with please post.
Thanks,

Go for it. There will be multiple options for handlebars. I found the below link with a search for windshields. I can't comment on the quality or fit because I have never used this company but here are some options.

We just recently started making them here as a custom shield. The cost is $99.95 plus shipping for a height of 13" or less and $109.95 for anything above 13". We make them in clear, tint or dark smoke (only can go to 10" on dark smoke). Please call us at the number below if you'd like to purchase one.

You’ll love the Sport Glide! I rode a 1200C for 9.5 years, then a Super Glide Custom for 10 years. I rode the 1st Sport Glide my local dealership got in and bought it. It handles and rides great, you won’t be disappointed. WRT the handlebars, check out Rox risers. I put the 2” ones my bike and now sit perfectly. The great thing is that I didn’t have to replace any cables, only reroute the clutch cable. Let me know if you’d like pictures.

I rode a 2007 xl1200c for a year, and then just bought the sport glide this year. I have put 4000 miles on it and LOVE IT. I am 6'2" and I couldn't handle mid controls on other 18 harleys, but the sport glide forwards, bags and gas tank size won me over. I purchased a 13 inch slipstreamer windshield and it works a charm. I did install the 4" pull back riser from Harley Davidson to bring the bars up and back a bit, now bike fits perfect. With the 4 inch riser you don't even have to change cables, just run the clutch cable under the bars instead of over the top. Before the riser I couldn't turn the bar fully without hitting my leg. Just get it, and spend 100 dollars on the shield, and get the quick release luggage rack or sissy bar and put some miles on it. I just bought the power vision tuner and an air cleaner and will do stage one. (power vision was on sale for 400 dollars at fuel moto). My advice, Buy the Bike , Oh and also get a different seat, the sport glide looks comfy, but after 90 miles my butt was hurting. I got the saddlemen step up and just went for a 250 mile ride today and didn't once have any pain in my rear.
