Default air ride on 2018 heritage?

I'm possibly looking at upgrading my monoshock to a legend air ride shock. I'm around 180lbs and it seems like at the lightest setting the shock is still too stiff. Anyone do this upgrade and whats your thoughts on the air shock. I'm looking for a more plush ride but would still like to keep the handling of what I currently have. Thanks.

Throw an extra 30lbs on and the ride gets much better.

How many miles on your shock? They take at least 1,500 miles to break in. I’m about 190 and mine was plenty plush after a few thousand miles. Air ride is generally not as responsive or well handling as a properly set up regular shock.

Around 6500 miles so I would hope they're broke in by now. Yeah I dont want to give up handling for a softer ride and was hoping to get it smoother. It's not harsh and so much better than my '16 slim so dont think I'm hating this ride just looking for a bit better. It reminds me of a sports car ride....stiff but planted and in control.

Ah, yeah that’s broken in for sure. I’m hoping for Fox or Legend to come out with a replacement unit for ours. They’ve done a great job on the touring bikes (about $900 - has preload and rebound settings)....hoping the M8 Softail is next on their development table.

Yes legend has a system out already and that's what I was looking at already have the hammock seat on now. Priced it at $1650.00 plus they estimate about 2.5hrs to install. Would hate to spend all that just to find out that it doesn't handle well.

What about a revalve and re-spring with a softer spring ?
Or even just a revalve it'd be cost effective.
